The Dream

It was an ordinary day at the track. Alicia and me were doing our runs against the other schools. She was doing her longest run of the day which was the mile long run. As she round the corner in the final lap, she tripped up and fell over face first into the ground. While she was falling, another runner came up and accidently hit her in the head with her cleat spikes. "Oh no!" I ran onto the track and went over to her as fast as I could once the other runners ran by to the finish line. I kneeled down next to her and found her unconcious with blood dripping out of her head from the spike hitting her in the head. "Alicia...." my eyes filled up with tears, and they started to drip onto her head.

The Ambulance arrived a few minutes later. She was picked up and loaded into it. I asked if I could go with them, and they said sure but to not touch anything. I hopped in and just looked at her unconcious on the bed. I put my hands together and started to cry with my hands against my head. We arrived shortly at the hospital and rushed her inside to an open room. I waited outside of the room while the doctors and nurses examined her wounds and cuts... crying... praying that she would make it. Minutes went by and the doctor finally came out and looked at me and said, "She'll be just fine, but she is asleep right now. You can go in and see her if you like." I was very relived to hear him say that, and I gave him a hug and walked into Alicia's room.

When I came in she had a large bandage on the right side of her face, well it was the left side from my point of view. She was sound asleep, but if it wasn't for the bandages she would of looked like an angel resting on a cloud. I walked over to her and put a hand on the side of her face that wasn't covered in a bandage. "Alicia... I'm so glad you're ok." I had a tear run off my face. I came closer to her head and leaned over her head, and kissed her on the lips. "Get well soon..." I said as I parted ways with my lips, then I felt a hand grab mine.

I saw Alicia slowly open her eyes and smile at me. "Thank you Troy...." I teared up and helped lift her up so she would be sitting upright. I put both my arms around her waist and held her tight against my chest with water flowing down my eyes. I felt her turn her head to the side, and put her ear against the left side of my chest. "I'm sorry I made so worried Troy..." I closed my eyes and started to rub her back. She smiled and we both held that position for a few minutes.

While we were having our heart warming moment, it was ruined by the sound of my cell phone going off. It was my father, so I answered it. "Hi dad... No, I'm with my girl friend at the hospital nearby, she got hurt real bad and I came with her... Yeah I'll wait here for you. I'm on the fourth floor, room number 536. It'll be on your right." I shut my cell phone and came back over to her. "Sorry about that, my dad called. He is on his way here to pick me up." I put my arms back around her and gave her a kiss on the head. "It's ok Troy... I'm just happy you're here with me." she put her hand over mine and put her ear back over my heart. "I really want you to stay with me... So I can hear your heart. That way I know you're always here for me." She closed her eyes and a tear rolled off her face.

My father arrived with my mother half an hour later. They were taken up to our room on the fourth floor. -knock knock knock- "Come in." Alicia said as she still had her ear on my chest listening to my heart. The door opened and my parents saw me hugging her with her head against me. "So this is her, huh? You did the right thing to go with her, but next time let us know so we don't have to drive all the way to the track and then here." my father said. "Sorry... she needed me, and I forgot to call you." I turned my head while she had her eyes closed against my chest. "If it is ok with you and the doctor, Alicia wants me to stay here with her to comfort her over night." I said and she looked over and nodded her head in agreement. "Is that ok with you doctor?" Alicia said as she put her arms around my waist. "I don't see why not, as long as the parents are ok with it." The doctor said. "Yeah... we'll allow him to stay here with her for tonight." my mother said, and they walked out with the doctor.

"Thank you for staying with me Troy." she pulled me closer and held me tight, like I was starting to slip away from her, but she didn't want to let me go. "You're welcome... my angel." I bent my knees to get head level with her, and kissed her on the lips slowly, and gracefully. She laughed lightly while she was kissing me. "Sit with me" she said, and I sat down with her. She pushed me backwards and I laied down on the bed, then she slide a bit to get comfortable. When she was right against me, she rested her ear over my heart. "I love your heart Troy... just the feeling of it makes me feel at ease... and the sound is just so relaxing" She took a slow, and deep breath, and relaxed her body. She fell asleep a little later while listening, and feeling my heart beating faster and slower from my breathing in her ear. I rubbed the tip of my fingers on her back softly for awhile, and I too fell asleep with her. When both of my parents and the doctor came in they found us sleeping with my right hand holding her left hand. They left the room and quietly closed the door to let us sleep together in peace...
